STATIONS

Station 1 -On your own

Read Chapter 5 -THREE people may sit in the pod who are NOT using headphones and reading to themselves.  ASK first!
You may listen to it with headphones by clicking here
Find a significant quote from this chapter. It should be a quote that reveals something important about Tom or the community he lives in. It may also be a quote that you find particularly humorous. Type your quote and commentary into the form below.  Your commentary should explain why you chose it and what it shows about Tom or his community. If you chose a humorous quote, explain HOW Mark Twain creates humor in the quote. Why is it important.  AT LEAST three sentences please. Include the page number.

Station 2 -Vocabulary-With a partner

Vocabulary Words

Complete the vocabulary words the same way you have done previous words. You should have fifteen words now. If you finish early, quiz your partner on the words.

furtive-adjective-done in a stealthy or sneaky way
immunity-noun-to have protection from punishment
diligent-adjective-working hard
disconcerted-adjective-disturbed-confused
prodigy-noun-a person, especially a child, very talented or brilliant in some way

Station 3-Read on your own. May take quiz and fill out handout with a friend

Read Newsela Article in your binder and take quiz. Mrs. Karney will then give a mini-lesson on introducing sources.  We will be using this when we write our argumentative speeches.

Station 4-On your own

Counterargument/Rebuttal Station
Watch the Edpuzzle Video in Google Classroom and answer the questions. Click DONE in Google Classroom when you have finished. 

If you finish any station early, you may prepare for your Passion Project or work on passing any NoRedInk Quiz you haven't passed.
